Method: Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC)

Results: The positive control plate for each test organism confirmed growth inoculum 104 - 105 organism/ml after 24 hours incubation. The negative control was no growth after 24 and 48 hours incubation. The inoculum of 104 - 105 organisms/ml for each test organism after 48 hours of incubation yielded the following MIC values:

Conclusion:
Laura Line Antibacterial Soap containing 1% Triclosan, DIN# 02242174 completely inhibited the growth of Vancomycin Resistant Enterococcus Faecalis, Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin Sensitive Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, Shigella sonnei, Salmonella typhimurium and Candida albicans. All of these organisms represent the most common patient’s bacterial isolates.
